EDMONTON -- Paul Lorieau, the longtime national anthem singer for the Edmonton Oilers, died on Tuesday at the age of 71. The Oilers said in a statement that Lorieau succumbed to cancer. "Paul will be respected and remembered for being a key player in the history of the Edmonton Oilers," said team president Patrick LaForge. "His passion and excitement became a staple at every Oilers home game for more than 30 years." One of Lorieaus most memorable moments came in Game 3 of the 2006 Western Conference final. He began singing "O Canada", but after a few short lines pointed his microphone in the air and let the Edmonton fans in attendance finish the rest of the anthem. Oren Burks Packers Jersey .
