The future Hall of Famer told TSNs sister station in Quebec RDS on Monday that while Luongo and Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price have been the countrys top two candidates, the Vancouver Canucks goaltender should get the edge for the starting job. "(Price) and Roberto Luongo are the two strongest candidates since the beginning of the year," Brodeur told RDS after the Devils 3-2 loss to Montreal. "In my book, the No. 1 goaltending spot belongs to Roberto Luongo. "The job is his and he cant lose it as I did in 2010 in Vancouver. Price must be patient, try to have the best season possible and the chance to take part in Sochi will be a very good experience for him." "It was a little sore obviously, but I was just trying to get it loose a little bit in between whistles and timeouts." Bernier aggravated the groin injury March 13 in the first period in Los Angeles. With the Leafs season looking like it was going off the rails after three straight losses, Bernier pushed himself too hard at Fridays practice with the hope of returning for the weekend.
